[SOLD] KATADYN SURVIVOR 40E 12 VDC SWRO UNIT

I have a Katadyn model 40E sea water reverse osmosis unit, complete with feed water
filter, manual operating lever, power switch, and installation / operation manual for sale "as is." (See attached photo.) It is rated at 1.5 gallons fresh water production per hourand draws 4 amps at 12 VDC.

The 40E was in a trawler we purchased last year. According to the previous owner, the equipment was purchased new and never commissioned or operated. (I have no way to confirm if this is true.) When we purchased the boat, it had been stored on the hard for about three years, so the unit is at least 4 years old. The serial no. is 40-04525.

We are selling the equipment because we have installed a washing machine and will need a higher capacity SWRO plant.

I connected the unit to 12 volts and turned it on BRIEFLY to confirm that the motor and pump mechanism were operable. It cycled through one stroke of the pump quickly and quietly. A small amount of fluid (pickle?) was seen in the product and brine lines.

As the unit is at least 4 years old, it will probably need a new membrane. (About $450 on Amazon.) The small plastic sea strainer provided with the original installation kit is missing. A replacement seal kit is also available in case any of the original pump seals have dried out.

The 40E is located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I would prefer local pickup, but will box up and ship the unit to a US address at the purchaser's expense. (Please advise zip code for a shipping charge estimate.) I can accept PayPal or a wire- electronic funds transfers for payment.
