First, it's the Survivor 35 MANUAL model, not the
electric version. It's really a
liferaft, or
emergency unit. I think it will produce about 1 gallon/hour or more.
There were three PUR/Kataydn desalinators (40E
electric, survivor 35 manual, Survivor 600 manual) on the
boat when we bought it. The prior owner spent a good deal of
money on new
sails,
rigging, Wells arch,
bronze ports, etc. between 2001 and 2003. These items were a part of that
purchasing spree, i believe. The boat was used winters in Trinadad, then stored. In 2003 the boat was brought back to the States and put
on the hard. The owner passed away in 2004 and we bought the boat in 2007.
The 600 is still in its plastic bag, the 40e was working when we
sold it, and I believe it's still working. I'm assuming that it's in good condition since everything else is. it looks like it wasn't abused.
Defender currently sells the 35 membrane for $338.00.
We already have a brand new Survivor 600
watermaker so this one is redundant.
Make me an offer.
