So plug your ipod in and listen to what you like. What do you prefer? How can you not like 'A white sport coat and a pink crustation'

I won't commit the sacrilegious act, to some here, and say Buffet may be a bit over played. But there are those usual standards played over and over again by the weekenders, wannabes and Tiki hut patrons I kind of tire of them myself. I like the crusty ones like this....

Ha! You thought it was gonna be one of the other versions didn't you Mods.
I know a few other versions, but it'll cost a few beers to get me to sing em.

one minute and forty one seconds was all I could stand of Barnacle Bill.

Everyone has different taste in music; otherwise it would a dull planet.

Goldfrapp

Lately, I've been listening to a group called Goldfrapp (Allison Goldfrapp, I suppose). Their music is pretty diverse, but always gives me the same dreamy feeling that I get when on the water. I can find songs for morning, noon, and night as well as calm, rough, and anchored. While I can find something to appreciate in nearly all music, this band has a trippy, hypnotic appeal that I especially enjoy...this week anyway.

I like them so much that Frank is doomed to hate them.

Which Ice Cream is "Best"?

Southern Star, he say:
Put another way, most of us on this site do not attempt to denigrate the opinions of others in areas that are almost purely subjective and involve taste.
Then why are you denigrating Gilbo's subjective opinion? It was simply an expression of taste. That can't rise to "inflamatory".

He didn't say, "You have a stupid opinion"; he just gave his own.

Buffet isn't the most talented guy out there, but he's a good entertainer. Parrot-heads, please understand that others may not share your enthusiasm.

Gilbo and Rhosyn Mor at least list bands I know. I would like to add E.L.O., Marillion, Supertramp, Golden Earring (Dutch band!), the Stones, Guns 'n Roses and yes, even Tina Turner.

The rougher the sea, the rougher and louder the music!

Jimmy Buffet? Never even heard of him, totally unknown outside US I guess.

cheers,
Nick.

'Sailin' by Cecilio and Kapono makes me want to hop on my boat and sail over the horizon. In fact not just want to, we did it. They have a lot of great songs but this one has had the most effect on my ailing. Wooden Ships by C,S, and N is also a great sailing song.
