My wife and I visited a couple of years ago. It was a hoot! Bring an open mind!

I would hope you are not easily shocked or prudish. I would consider it to be an adult oriented event. There will be a lot of skin and a variety of lifestyle orientations will be rather apparent. It can also be a lot of fun and also very crowded. If you plan to go, make reservations as far ahead of time as possible.

We have been the past couple of years. We are currently in Marathon and took our boat down both times for the whole week. We like it from Monday through Friday. We don't care for the crowd on Saturday for the main parade. We think it is a blast, but you can't be offended by some nudity and lots and lots of drinking.

I've missed only one or two in the past 25 yrs. Once it was new and refreshing, it has become predictable and over promoted as of late. I am not easily offended by displays of sexuality or nudity but find crude behavior by anyone unappealling. Fantasy Fest has become very unappealing. I do and will continue to be there and would suggest all visit once or twice to see for yourself. Come on vacation-leave on probation has become the theme. Dave

Come on vacation -- leave on probation. Seems an appropriate comment. Sounds like I'd like to visit -- once.

When I was in Key West during a normal week there was obviously a great variety of sexualities present. During Fantasy Fest week I would expect to see things that I wouldn't even be able to understand. I like weird people so I'd probably enjoy it.

I as at my 1st Fantasy Fest this year, good costumes, fun people, crowded and a little crazy, I've been to much crazier parties (no cars get burned at fantasy Fest, go to Backwoods Blowout and watch the minivans burn). the "Capt'n Morgan Parade" is a cheap knock off of any New Orleans parade but the Peoples Parade the night before was great fun! Wandering through the streets with other pirate clad cruisers (what else would a cruiser have aboard for a costume?) and partaking in the local's libations from via booths on the street. That party is fine for kids but if you don't want your kids to see drunken nudity keep them off Duval St. after dark (and off teh innernets).

The street side food in Bahama Village is great! Unless you're a vegetarian.
