Why Is it So Hard to Find Insurance for My Boat ?

I am planning a double handed trip around the Atlantique (starting from the UK, carabeans, US, canada, and back) and I am truggling to find insurance cover for my boat.
I was told the boat was too cheap or too old, or perhaps it might be considered too small ? (She is 30', worth approx. £15,000 built in 1980 in FRP, and we recently added lots of safety equipment, new sails etc...).
After having tried all the big names, I am currently talking to insurance brokers in my area, but so far I have not had a yes.
Any recommendation would be very welcome !

On another subject, does anyone have recommendation for worldwide personal health insurance ? I have seen Dogtag has a specialised poilicy that also covers rescue at sea, but I have read negative feedback on their service...

Thanks !

We just signed on with IMIS. If you are going to circumnavigate ask about their "Jackline" policy. We were quite pleased with their informative service and willingness to answer questions. Good luck in your search.

If your insurance survey was good the only other problem I see is maybe short handed sailing... they like at least 3 for crossings.. also there's no shortage of customers out there...
If I was you I'd contact Pantaneaus and get a quote for just 3rd party liability and check out their Health Policies....
Its all you need.. and at 15K in the current market its likely your boats considered overvalued...
