......and if you can find them, you can hire The A Team.

An ex of mine, now dearly departed, was a special forces opperative who, with some buddies, did repatriations of all things from boats to babies.

They were contracted by a wealthy Italian to gain back control of a yacht, stationed in the Carib, from the Captain who was hiring it out for his own gain whilst it was on standby for the owners use.

They flew out, hired a rib and scuba gear, got aboard, locked up the crew and captain and delivered the boat into the hands of the owners agent.

4 guys, 5 days, $ 40,000 plus expenses.

Satisfaction done.

The problem of course, Anjou, is that the boat is not in the water and is nowhere near seaworthy. In the end I suspect that all we can do is sympathsize with their plight and commend them for their perseverance. Here's to hoping that it will ultimately not be in vain and that the threat of arrest warrants will ultimately bring about some kind of resolution.

I'm afraid, I would have pursued extra legal means to resolve this issue a long time ago.

After 7 years of this game is the boat still worth saving? Somehow I think not. If they haven't done anything, rot will be well advanced.

Perhaps it would be better to hire a couple of street kids and watch the whole yard go up in flames from a distance.

Re: Schooner Lord Jim Held Hostage by Boatyard for 4 years!

Hi.
Anyone knows if there is an update to this story. I've seen the boat at anchor in Angra do Reis. But couldn't find any newer news about it. The owner's blog has not been update for five years.

Somebody?
