July 2015 Honduras Firearm check in Experience

Hello fellow Cruisers!

I thought i would contribute, with another check in experience for the where we are at now

Honduras!

So pretty much this is what you can expect if you check in at Isle de Guanaja. Disclose firearms to hung over immigration man. He proceeds to call the customs in Roatan. He shakes your hand and stamps your passport and you give him a 6 pack of beers when you come back into town. (it was carnival and he liked beer)

That was it.

Oh yeah. He asked that I give a list of the guns to the "Port Captain".Hes on the dock on the cay with the streamers and the nice looking salmon colored two story building on it.

So far it was the easiest check in by far

That works both ways. The guys sticking you up have no more trouble getting a gun than you did. Honduras is headed for trouble. Those islands should secede.

Guanaja has always been easy, but stick to the islands and give the mainland a wide berth.

Large high density populations seem to have the same characteristics everywhere. One of the best motivators to get on a boat...
