Re: I need some advice here...

I think that doing a salvage title when there are known owners(or some of them) would come under the classification of Fraud. If the broker was in on it, he could get his license pulled and maybe face prosecution. Salvage titles or lien sale receipts are not uncommon , but there are very strict rules to keep them legal, and this situation doesnt even sound close to legal. BEWARE ,BEWARE.___just my 2 cents worth.____Grant.

Re: I need some advice here...

I have only one experience with getting a boat off of an Italian register and it was very difficult. It toook three years. I should not have bought the boat but I did. Two years later I am only now getting the paperwork so that I can register it in the US. My sister in law lives in England and we paid cash for the boat and then registered it in her name under the SSR. She gives us a notarized permission to use the boat. We are also listed as additional insured's on the boat. A PITA but we haven't even had to show the registration to anyone with authority yet.

Now that I have the paperwork from Italy I am going to investigate how to get it registered properly.

Just because you can "magick up" some paperwork (from own handiwork! or from officialdom) doesn't cure an underlying problem like someone else actually owning the item! But sometimes that is the best one can get - nonetheless still not perfect and open to challenge, either by officialdom or an owner coming out of the woodwork! For me that risk would have to be well priced in to the deal..........
