Last time I was chasing 3M VHB Tape I recall different product numbers for different tape widths. Futhermore, I believe the standard length is about 1,5 meters (less than 2m for sure as opposed to competition) but they do offer rolls up to 30m if I recall correct. They also have a tape that looks similar but it does not have the "VHB" emblem on it and I don't know if it's better or worse for our purpose, and has different product number of course.

Does anyone know if the 3M VHB Tape comes in various THICKNESSES or are the thicknesses all same and standard?
As I said bafore. Here in Brazil they cut the roll the thickness you want.

Correction: they cut the width you want, not thickness. Sorry

http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/9...0TDS%2011-2015.

.25 to 3 mm

Notice the varied styles, possibly not all meant for quasi structural bonding.

In your application you may want only the strongest tape.

Tks!

Sorry no idea on either -- you will have to ask Jeanneau -- but they are thick and can take a beating

Re: Unsuccesfull windows. What to do?

Acres of leaking acrylic windows --which did not open anyway--rotted their surrounding plywood on our cruiser to the point we decided to get rid of them and the entire cabin sides.

It was a major undertaking. Sheets of new plywood, and then the installation of caravan-style sliding toughened glass windows in aluminium frames. But one of the 4 constantly leaked, despite the very neat installation with screws and sikaflex sealing.

I suspect a problem in the frame itself..but rather than remove and re-install, we poured a liquid product, Captain Tolley's creeping crack cure all over the outside frame and into the slide channels.

We were on board for a couple of rainy days after that, before returning home, and the leaks appeared to have stopped.
