Re: Termites?

We have an infestation of drywood termites and used the Premise Foam, not sure yet if successful. We were told by a couple of the professional exterminators that the Termidor Foam was the best but it's unavailable in California. Founf these guys to be very good:

Re: Termites?

I found termites in my wood mast where the mast goes through the deck. I had a leaky mast boot and the little bit of rain we get here in San Diego made a nice place for them to get started. I only saw a very small amount of droppings one time and then never again. I still had my masts fumigated while they were out and will have the boat fumigated before the masts go back in. It is the only way to be sure, and I want to be sure they are gone.

Re: Termites?

Ants look like ants while termites look like small roaches.

I read somewhere that playing music very loud makes them look for a new home. That source claimed this is because they do not like subwoofer frequencies.

Re: Termites?

A friend of mine had termites on his boat till last week, at first he thought it was just an isolated area, after a while and endless spraying with different remedies, he finally had the boat fumigated. Find a specialist using VIKANE has in your area and get it done..... Probably you also want to "wrap" your whole mast in order to gas it from top to bottom. The cabins and saloon is quite easy, cockpit and decks take some work because you also need to tent the area.

Good luck!
