I ripped out the old carpeting and made new floor boards. The floor boards (8 total) make up about 95% of the floor. They are Teak and Holly Plywood.
I built a new settee from plywood and veneered it with walnut. Then sprayed with furniture grade lacquer.
The cushions and back were professionally made by a local upholsterer. We used very expensive stuff called "Ultra leather". Feels so nice and soft.
Since we are live-aboards, we want to be comfortable.
Total cost for salon was around $1500. Other than the upholstery, I did all the work.

Yes it sure looks great. I am not a great fan of carpet on a boat, so I think you did well to rip that out.

No stain, just a polyurethane finish. It was dark outside when I took the pics. It is a little lighter when there is good lighting.
This is a little closer to what it actually looks like in natural lighting.

Looks great!
But one word of caution, furniture grade lacquer does not have any UV inhibitors and may degrade over time if you keep your curtains open a lot. You may need to over coat it with something that blocks UV. Not trying to rain on your parade, just trying to help you preserve all of that hard work.

You will be really happy with the Ultra Leather. We have the white Ultra Leather on our boat and its very durable and does not stain. Our dog is on it constantly and we never see any signs of wear from her claws or anything. I even spilled a small amount of red wine on one and it cleaned right up with no staining.
