Revitalise interior fibreglass or paint it

Hi all,

My sail boat is 1983 thus, 33yrs old and I'm wondering if I should 'try to revitalise/rejuvenate' the interior fibreglass or paint over it.

I'll post photos later but essentially the fibreglass has dulled over time and when I removed fittings (such as, window curtain tracks) in my refurbishment the fibreglass behind the now removed window curtain track is nice and white but the rest of the interior is a dulled colour.

No amount of polishing has rejuvenated or more accurately taken the fibreglass back its original white other than to make it really now shiny and polished but the demarcation between original white fibreglass and old dulled fibreglass still exist. :-(

Thus, I'm thinking it needs to be 'cut' back or painted over...
Anyone tackled this dilemma and had good outcomes?

Try wet sanding with 700 - 1200 grit and polishing
if not paint is a reasonable option.
