Quiet engine room blowers ?

Our engine room blower is probably 33 years old. It puts out a lot of air and other than the noise there is nothing wrong with it. The noise is from the vibration/rattle not from the whoosh of the squirrel cage.

Is it worth trying to somehow quiet it by wrapping it in insulation or is that likely to make it overheat or not quiet it anyway ?

If I replace it, what are the quality alternatives out there, performance, durability and quiet ?

One way or another I have to solve the problem as the noise is annoying enough to make us want to shut it down before the engine room has had time to cool down as much as I'd like.

Thanks,

-Sven
