Prepping Fiberglass Lapstrake Hull For Painting

Hi,

Our sailboat (Northern 37') has a fiberglass lapstrake hull. I need to prep it to repaint the hull.

Question:
Has anyone had any experience on an easy way of sanding/prepping the little valleys for repainting these type of surfaces.

Thanks,
Ken
