Moving forestay forward

Hi All
I recently purchased a mid 80's Hunter 27, that needed a bit of work, nothing major just some TLC. One of the changes I would like to make is to add a bow pulpit that extends 18" -20 " forward and relocated the attachment point of the forestay to the forward end of the bow pulpit. Similar to what is shown in the attached pic. Question is how is this likely to affect the handling. No good reason to do it other than the fact that I like the looks of a long bow pulpit, and it provides a place to store the anchor..

Where are you going to attach the bobstay ?

Doing this will most likely make the boat so unbalanced as to be awful to sail.

Also, a solid structure to attach the bobstay and enough deck structure to take the compression loads of the sprit will be needed.

For a hunter 27, I’m skeptical that the deck will support it without a ton of work.....and now you’ve got extra weight where you don’t want it.

Suppose I leave the Forestay where it is, and only use the bow pulpit to support the anchor roller?.

Leave the stay alone, use pulpit for anchor and a place to tack a drifter/a-spinn.
