Maintaining a Propane Stove/Oven

Folks,

Our boat came equipped with Tasco propane cooktop and oven. Besides the usual cleaning, is there ay preventive maintenance you would recommend?

Thanks,

-z

Re: Maintaining a Propane Stove/Oven

Eventually the burners get funky, kind of consumed by the fire that comes through them. I'd suggest you obtain and carry spare burners, especially if the stove is no longer new. By the time you need the spares they may no longer be available. FWIW, I take ours off and tap them out, occasionally, and am a bit surprised how much mass they lose.

There's a guy on CF who has done extensive propane stove rebuilds, sorry I can't think of his name, a Custom Google search on CF or a PM to GordonMay, he may be able to remember, and he sure as heck knows how to find links!

Occasionally, a leak check at the valve stems, soapy water look for bubbles.
All fittings associated with the supply line, top off inspect for rusting tubes.
