I can really see having a hairy hull.

Sometimes I wonder if we do the right thing by coating our boats with poisonous paint.

As we do it now a slime first grows, then some sort of weed that the fish turn their noses up at, but which covers the poison so that larger marine critters can get a foothold, then its all downhill from there.

I mean if we could actually encourage the right sort of weed to grow the local fish might keep it trimmed...
