Farymann /paguro 3000

Looking out for a handle to start manually a farymann generator.
Renewed the electricity items , gas oil flow is ok. The generator wasn't used for a long time (almost a year) and doesn't seem to get enough compression to get going. Battery is ok. Lost the handle to get it going manually. Anyone? Ideas?

Farymann motors are very sensitive to valve settings (as I have discovered with a cranky starting generator). Try resetting your valves. If this is a single cylinder model, you can use a 10mm box/open end wrench to rotate the motor to TDC. Insert the open-end in the cam-shaft end piece and use a screw driver through the box end to rotate the wrench/shaft until the pin in the end of the shaft is vertical. Then reset the valves. Your owners manual will give you the correct valve clearance. On ours, however, it is .008". Once done, seal up the valve cover and manually activate the fuel pump and let it run for 4-5 minutes which should purge the air, if any, out of your system. Then try starting it. (If you have closed off your raw water intake to prevent flooding the exhaust system/cylinder in your prior start efforts, once the thing starts, shut it down immediately, and reopen the raw water valve.)

Good luck!

PS: If you still need it, you can obtain a starting crank from Fischer-Panda.
