Rod;
I debated with myself about the size of the spray hood when I bought Pleiades, but now am satisfied with it as it is. I certainly think it suits the lines and find I have all the protection I need by sitting on the top step of the companionway with the autopilot remote in hand.

Thanks for the reply. I have to laugh when you say that you sit at the top step with the autopilot remote. We do exactly that! It does work, but since we intend to cruise the North Sea and the Baltic, I can imagine a little more shelter might be required. My wife , bless her, just looks me in the eye and says that we can just sail in our exposure suits if necessary.

John,
I do agree about the lines though. We had a nice stainless sprayhood frame made up with mostly clear panels. It really does look nice. We have photos of our recent cruise to the Channel Islands on Photobucket.com. Search for: Proximity_2006 if you're interested. Best regards.
