Yanmar 3QM30H: Firing Order

I have a Yanmar 3QM30H, the manual gives conflicting locations for #1 cylinder when at TDC for setting valves, in the front of the manual it shows #1 at the front of the engine (timing gear side), when describing valve setting it says to bring #1 (flywheel side) piston to TDC on compression stroke. Can some one help clear up this conflict.

My manual covers several different Yanmar engines, though not yours.

Sometimes I have looked at the wrong section for info and found conflicts until I noticed my mistake.

Possibly you have looked at different engine sections?

Re: Yanmar 3QM30H: Firing Order

I will vote for "Flywheel End" for No 1 piston as my big workshop manual and Yanmar manual both say that. Besides have always used this on my motor 3hm35.

Cheers Jacko

Gee thanks guys for your quick reply, I based my assumtion that #1 was at the front on diagrams at the beginning of the manual, athough the discription dose say "flywheel side".
