Starting current for Yamnah 20GM20

  1. Having trouble with my 3 year old battery starting my Yamnah diesel 20GM20. Does anyone know the "cold cranking amps"(CCA) for my engine, please ?

For a 20 hp diesel about 150 amps @ 12 volts

Yanmar recommends a 70 Amp/Hour, 385 CCA (455MCA) battery for their 2GM20 engine, which has a 1 kW Hitachi starter motor.

Thanks GordMay and deckofficer for your help (especially that 240 page manual, GordMay, am working my way through it).

Good sailing !
