ok my two cents on this,I just picked up my boat the engine is an L30 one cylender farymann it is 8 hp if you have the a30 it is probly a 9 to 10 hp. if your engine has been in salt all its life you will not be adding any years to it .if it is an L30 you will not be able to get parts this was told to me by a marine engine repair shop in OR. I was lucky the past owner of my boat installed a fresh water flush set up which he has always used so hopefully my engine will last a few more years. anyway the repair guy I talked with said if he could get the parts to rebuild my engine you were looking at appx 3k the parts are verey costly they stopped making the L30 13 yrs ago. I talked with beta marine a new 2 cylander with coupling will run you 6200.00 and that includes the coupling, it will also way appx 100 lbs less and be freshwater cooled. so run it till it dies and have fun.good luck bill
