Extra parts?

This weekend I (or my partner, if he gets time off work) will attempt our first boat project besides inventory and cleaning: replace a 3 way tank selector/shut off valve in the fuel lines. The lines themselves look OK - they even seem pretty clean, given what the valve itself looks like. Would you have spare fuel line on hand when starting the job? The valve itself looks like it might be original to the boat (1987) and is weeping. Is it likely that the removal process will ruin the fuel hose?

I would have a bit of extra fuel line on hand. The old ones I've tried to remove have always required splitting or cutting to get the free. If you don't have enough length to cut and then reattach then a replacement line might be in order. We're talking flexible lines or hose, right?

Yep, good old 1/4" fuel hose. I'll add it to the list!
