Engine mounts on Volvo md4020

I have the hippy hippy shakes. Looks like 1 rear engine mount has collapsed. Should I replace all 4? Have heard good things about polyflex. Not sure of costs
In Australia.

Re: Engine mounts on Volvo md4020

Depends on why the mount broke. If they are all old and have potential for breaking, then replace all. If there was a design or mounting issue that caused that one to break, fix the issue and replace the one.

In the scheme of things, mounts aren't very expensive, so I think I would replace all.

Thanks Mark, I assume old age so I will replace all 4. Price is over $200 each so far. Also does not look an easy job as some rust on rear mounts and not easy to get at. Just like all boat jobs I suppose.

Wow, that is expensive. Is this Volvo's price or other? If you insist on having the "real thing", look at mounts for a Perkins Perama 40 - exact same engine, but Perkins usually charges much less than Volvo.

Otherwise, just get aftermarket mounts that have the same specs - neither Volvo nor Perkins actually make their own mounts.
