Engine Mounts for a Volvo MD17C Diesel

Has anyone any recommendations for replacement mounts for a Volvo MD17C diesel? When I put the engine in my boat last year I used the recommended Barr Marine 8001 mounts, turns out they are a load of cr*p. The rubber is disintegrating and they are useless.
Can you suggest a suitable replacement for this motor? Ideally I need mounts with a 5/8 stud and 4 inches on center for the lag bolts to the stringers.
Thanks
Bazzer

That is a really quick time period for a rubber mount to go out. Are you sure you didn't get anything on the rubber that could have corroded it like fuel or oil, especially things like ATF can eat that stuff.

I'd agree that it's a very short time for them to "fail". Have you contacted the manufacturer/dealer and asked for their opinion?

I fitted Isoflex or Polyflex (not sure which) to Boracay and, as far as I can determine, they have performed perfectly.

If you were to contact one of the above they should be able to advise on replacements.

Yep, I contacted the maker, about as useful as a ashtray on a motorbike. Said they were not made for a diesel, but would work on a small block Chevy.
The Polyflex look great, but are they available here in the USA? California?

As to Polyflex availability I could not say, but going from the US to Oz your USPS is well priced, has tracking, and takes 2 3 weeks. I'd expect Australia Post to offer a comparable service.

UPS only takes a few days but is very much more expensive.

Send them an email with your requirements. My memory is that they were very pleasant to deal with.

I have ordered new mounts from Bushings Inc, via San Diego Marine. DF206. I hope they last longer than the ones from Barr Marine!
