A new use for that old walker

If you've got an outboard and do maintainence on it yourself, don't get rid of that old walker that you might have laying around. I used one we had laying around to make a perfect outboard dolly/stand.

The only problem I had was keeping it from swinging the way I had it mounted, but that was solved with just a piece of wood stuck across two of the braces. Rope or a strap could probably be substituted.

I know that we are younger than some (ok, many) cruisers... but how many people have an old walker laying around? This is scary

For those of use without walkers, I have used a step latter with much success as an impromptu motor stand before. Combine with plastic trashcan for a complete engine testing solution.

My late great-grandmother used a walker during the last few years of her life. Once she passed away we had 2 walkers that just sat in a corner until we finally found someone to give them to. This one was leftover from when my mother broke her ankle. Maybe it's not as common as we think, but had we not given 2 away we would currently have 3 just sitting in the corner of our garage.

That's pretty clever. Even elderly outboards need a little exercise occasionally.

I fractured my pelvis in a cycling accident in 2005, so yes, even we not-yet-senior-citizens sometimes have a walker stashed away in the attic!

This is a neat idea! I'd much rather use my walker this way than ever have to use it to walk again.
