1995 Merc Outboard Gaskets

... Just back from local repair shop regarding some gaskets and diaphragm for my 6 hp merc outbard carb and fuel pump. Price was outrageous.Just wondering if anyone out there has made their own gaskets for older outboards and what material do you buy. The diaphragm is different and needsto be purchased as it seems to be some kind of fabric.

Do you have the model number and serial number? You can look them up rather easily and usually order directly from Mercury Parts or another supplier.
