I have recently acquired a 32' Stevenson for next to nothing, however I have never sailed one I have always been a mono guy. My question is besides a little more comfort sailing for the wife what are the benefits , and is it much different from sailing a mono? This is not our dream boat or our final boat as I will be going back to a mono for our extended cruising boat, more like something to play with for a few years in the Caribbean and US east coast. We will be sailing this boat from San Diego through the canal and into the Caribbean. Any thoughts on sail configuration, do's and don'ts and general Tri/Cat sailing advice will be greatly appreciated.

I'm family knowledgeable about multis and never heard of your S32. Sounds like some guy with that name that built himself a Piver. Maybe not. You're considering some serious cruising there so might as well have yourself a decent boat.
