I've used these (TAYLOR MADE Dock & Post Bumpers at West Marine) with great effect for several of my customers, I highly recommend them. I used the largest size: 8.5" wide by 3.5" thick by 9 feet length. They bend readily around corners and fasten to the dock securely with stainless screws and finish washers. Pricey, but they do the job very well.

I use this simple fender and it works well, Usually I keep one on both sterns

yes this is what I use too , BUT , due to the angle on the sterns they ride up when you need them , ie when its choppy or with swell .
I want to cut some type of foam and bond it direct onto the hull ends 50mm would be sufficient .
Question is , what type of foam ?

Try SUGRU (https://sugru.com/) in white. It molds by hand and cures overnight. It finishes with a firm rubber texture. I keep finding all sorts of uses for it on the boat. The 100 gram lump costs $20.

Roy, I have no idea how that crap would work for one second.

The best so far I have come up with is to rig a couple bow fenders together. I am thinking about taking two of them and lashing them together to make one fender. Then I would tie 4 lines off them so the fenders mold around the stern and won't move. It's hard to explain in words but maybe your imagination can put it together. I think you need a lot of give. Foam won't survive for long.

Palarran, It's not rocket science. You see where the abrasion is taking place. You mold a custom wear plate/cushion for that space. If you don't think it will work for your application, then it probably wouldn't meet your needs. Other folks may think likewise or not. Your solution may not meet their's. Calling one person's suggestion (based on personal success) "crap" is probably not the most effective way to solicit help. Good luck in your search.

Grammo's. I'm storing my cat at Messolonghi this winter and will head back to the Ionian's for next summer. We enjoyed a few days in Kefalonia last year before we hauled out. What a great cruising area. I can't hardly wait for June.
