Re: Stable attachment of tender to boat for easier transfer

I guess it depends on the level of difficulties. Our boat has a large duckboard - bridgedeck extension behind the rear beam. We can run the dinghy under this, then sit on the duckboard, then get up. (Also very handy for unloading groceries, jerrycans etc.)

All great ideas. I'm leaning towards fabricating a parallel hinge for a swim platform that the tender sits on and winch it up to the rear deck. I'll measure up tomorrow and see if it will work.
You've left out a lot of important information, but I'm going to suggest that an inflatable dinghy will probably bot support and adult body when out of the water.

Each boat, each dinghy and each person's capabilities is different so you're going to have to supply more information.

I'm guessing this hydraulic solution would be too heavy for your boat, but it might give you some ideas to work from:

Tenderlift – TENDERLIFT® LIGHT platform

What I have in mind is similar but much lighter. The action of lifting would still be by rope but it would lift a platform that the tender sits on and the metal work I'd fabricate would just be a guide to make sure it travels level. By not carrying much vertical load it can be lightweight and mount above the duckboard.

Re: Stable attachment of tender to boat for easier transfer

James Wharram has lifting swim platform between the aft hulls on some of his designs.

Have a look at his website.

Could surely be built in variations to fit another boats style.

Alternatively fit a pair of comfortable fold down stairs as on my boat on the bow.

Let the people get off in style and move the dinghy back aft.
