Solaris Sunrise Hulls...

I know a gentleman at our yard who has a Solaris Sunrise 36 and wants to put in a new transducer but has no clue whether his hulls are cored or solid glass. He would like to put it "thru-hull" if possible but doesn't want to if it's cored. The boat went thru the refit by another yard and is stored here. I told him I would see if I could get some info on their construction, but most sites are very generalized.

1989 Solaris Sunrise 36

Try sending a PM to member Southern Star. Brad is the go-to guy for Solaris questions.

We have a 1992 Solaris Sunstar 36 and she is cored above waterline and solid glass below.

Outstanding! Thanks a bunch! SHe's "standing" right behind our boat and I get to drool over her every weekend. I hear they slap/pound a lot tho....

The Sunstar 36 is a completly different animal than the sunrise 36. I'm not sure about the Sunrise but the Sunstar hardly ever slaps and has never pounded. This is due to the radius between the hulls and bridgedeck

Re slap: Yes, that was in regards to the Sunrise. I had read that on a forum for Solaris cats. The gent hasn't put her in the water yet. It was shipped in from Louisiana where he bought her.

Where on a Solaris would be best for a thru-hull transducer?
