pirate Re: Santander, Spain to Shoreham on Sea.. have a laugh..

Grabbed a window and headed for Le Sables up the coast.. prefer it to La Rochelle.. and its 9euro a night cheaper... stay 3 get one free... and change for a beer or two..
Damn wind went West 3hrs to soon and it was an uncomfortable slog with building beam sea's in F5 gusting 6.. engine on to keep the course else we'd drift on shore..
Was I relieved when we made the entrance.. Phew.. tie on the fenders.. check course.. Oh ****..!!
Big ship coming out.. narrow channel.. about turn and back to the bouncing.. Pilot was well pleased though.. big grin and wave as they passed me coming back in..
So am tucked up in a marina for a few days till this baby has 'Walked on By..!!'
Also.. get some bulbs for the nav lights.. my headlamp has been serving for a stern light across from Santander..
Check and tape all the bottle screws as a couple vibrated loose.. one was a masthead shroud..
"She don't like it up the front or from the side Cpt Mannering Sir.. She don't like it one little bit..!!"

Take a walk along the quay and visit the Privilege factory. Very nice people and I'm sure they'll give you a tour if you want.

Know it Monte.. was here a couple of years back to help an Aussie owner start his voyage to Thailand on his new Lagoon 380.. took him as far as the Canaries while he got the hang of things..
Hopefully he's enjoying the delights of those shores as I type..
Yup.. Le Sables is alright.. La Roche is just to 'Stick up the Ass' for my liking..

He hasn't kept the Spot on constantly in earlier trips.

Looks like big wind from the west for tomorrow.

Looking for another pretty place to work on the boat.

Re: Santander, Spain to Shoreham on Sea.. have a laugh..

several years ago was entranced by a 1967 Cheoy Lee Offshore 40.
did a survey to find that it was actually a semi-catamaran. Enough blisters to create 2 hulls out of 1. That broke my heart and since then I've kept busy with work.

I'm told that broken hearts mend with the application of sea-time…
Also been told that work will kill you…( )
