Orana 44 Sail Performance

Hallo. I search so much informations about the Sail Performance from a Orana44! I didnt found anything. My question. How The Orana moves at less Winds not heavyly loadet?
I read so much about the Orana but all things are not so important for me. For me its important to know if the boat moves with less wind<10kn.
Its seems like that the Orana its light boat.
Thank You

There is hardly any difference between all the fin keeled production boats of that same era, Lagoon 440, Leopard 44, etc. Join the multihull dynamics webiste and you can compare all the similar boats for their base speed and their light wind performance number (Bruce Number). I just did a quick compare and the Orana is about average.

Re: Orana 44 Sail Performance

From what I hear FP owners say You may expect 6-7 knots @ 10 kn speed depending on the boat loading.

If You need the boat sailing @ <10 kn wind, then (IMHO) You need to think of a lighter boat.

Re: Orana 44 Sail Performance

I did appr 15.000 nm with an Orana and the Atlantic both ways. She sails reasonably well but usually requires a bit more than 10 kts true. If you take it from 60-70 degrees on a calm see, you can expect 5-5.5 kts of speed if you trim well and with folding props.
However she is a very userfriendly and for single handling both lines coming to helm station.
Cheers

Re: Orana 44 Sail Performance

Thanks for answering. She needs little more then 10kn true wind... i realy wanna a boat who moves with less wind..
The Nautitech 40 seems to be one of it. In the End i need to tryout by myself.
