Again, you simply mis-state facts. Virtually 100% of the boats sold are private boats sold to private owners. Some use our Business Yacht Ownership program as a part of their retirement program to build equity until they have more time. But virtually everyone of them intends to convert to personal use in 3-5 years.

No one ever said the 20HP was offering the same performance--go back and read the information. The combination of autoprops with the standard engine (for about the same price as the upgraded engine with folding props) offers many, proven advantages.

BYA I noticed a link to a walk through video, but couldn't find the link on site. Can you give a direct link please? Also as the hull #1 has been launched for a while at La Rochelle is there any feedback on performance, polars or sailing videos yet?

Thanks for bringing a measure of sense to this topic.
Catamaran builders, especially overseas, are finding more and more that the margins are so tight on the under 40' models, that it just doesn't make sense to offer them--especially when you consider the relatively fixed cost of ocean delivery to the price discussion.

This reality is why some people choose the Business Yacht Ownership program as a stepping stone--or look at used boats. Both good alternatives depending on your circumstances.

Hull #1 has definitely not been launched! She will be in November 2015 and the official introduction will be the Paris Boat show in Dec. 2015.

This is the Saba 50--confirmed by FP. Note the jumper strut in the view and also, you can see the upper deck sun lounge rail--not on the 40.

I guess what BYA2014 is saying is that the popular combination Microwave/convection oven would be better than a Gas oven.

What that means is that any cookies or pie making will need to DRAW down your batteries or have the generator running as you bake.

Well generators are becoming pretty quiet now so I don't think that would be an issue. I'd probably consider the option if we didn't use the oven much and wanted a genset. I think it's good to have a lot of options but the base price doesn't mean a lot when you have to add them. A good sailaway, well speced price is needed to compare apples with apples. Personally I think it's going to be at least 20% more expensive than the L400 for similar specs and quite a bit smaller. The L400 is 86m2 of deck area and the FP40 78m2. The L39 is 78m2 as well and 10% less expensive than the L400. Perhaps for some the FP styling, design, brand is worth paying the extra for but as an investment will it return more charter dollars than the L39 or L40? Maybe..
I do like, the design, as well as the Helia and it's only the price point that seems a little skewed.

The microwave / oven is an alternative option. if you don't want it just don't buy it.

An electric oven could well fit into the power regime depending on ones needs and habits. Some folks run the genset every day or two to power a big watermaker and charge the batteries. Heating the oven for cookies at the same time would not hurt. Big solar panels should be enough to keep the oven hot for longer periods.

I am not a fan of this concept as I prefer silence but it certainly works well.

If you complained that a simple oven is another 1k on top of the base price for such a boat that would be a dfferent thing.

You seem to be looking for a fight for no reason.

Fully agree. I don't see how or why the FP40 should fetch a higher price than the Lagoon 400 when priced for sailaway with similar spec.
