Yup, your probably right.
I'll be heading back to Mexico in about a month to spend another winter down there aboard my baby.
I did just upload some pics to my profile for anyone interested.
Sorry for the thread drift everyone...

As for the Catana 59... For $2.2 mil, there are MANY other boats I would take beforehand, but I HARDLY think she is ugly!!!

I imagine that 10 knots in a small boat (hobie cat) feels a whole heck of a lot more exciting than 10 knots in a 59 foot cat.
I think that's probably what SMJ was alluding to.
Just like going 25mph on a go cart compared to a car.

That is one ugly cat. Nothing there that looks like a 2.2 mil boat.
And they still expect you to cook in the sun on the stern step.
Looks like an origami boat

I think it only looks like a $2.1 mil boat.

Looks homebuilt and fugly!

As best I can figure only 16 tiny little opening ports, I am sure it has AC but still, going to get real stuffy real quick. Having said that if you are looking to buy me a Christmas present I would take it (But probably sell it and buy a gunboat?)

Re: New Catana 59

I may very well be biased, but seriously - 750k AUS Dollars more than a Outremer 5X? I suppose you get more boat for your money - about 4 tonne more. Seriously expensive and somewhat heavier than it needs to be.

Does look kind of ugly. I do like the way they opened up the salon to the cockpit. Seems I've seen that done before but can't quite place the design........oh yeah! The Seawind 1000 and 1160. Much better job by Seawind if you ask me. Kinda becoming a trend? I believe Gunboat has done that with their new 50'er.

It's almost as ugly as the Flyin' Hawaiian.
