Melbourne area slipway and advise please

I've just put deposit on a 2004 43' Fountaine Pajot Belize in Melb pending survey etc and as I'm Sydney based I'm hoping someone down that way can give me some advice on a good slipway that can handle a 7mt (23') wide cat for survey >> and maybe those to avoid as well. Boat is at Pier 35 Port Melbourne. Also be looking at getting her antifouled and possible re-rig (current rig 2004 so will need doing) before the run North to Pittwater. Any advise or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Roy.

You could try Yaringa or Hastings Marina's, Both on Westernport Bay,

There is another one over near Geelong, I dont have info on that one, But they do handle cats,

Yaringa is a really well run yard with great staff. Not much help for the survey (wrong bay) but if they can handle a boat of your size they'd be a great place to work or get the work done.

Theres a slipway just up the Yarra from Pier 35 on the opposite side, I've seen a lagoon in there so i suspect its big enough. I think its called Duke & Orr.

Re: Melbourne area slipway and advise please

The slipway up the Yarra is big enough and the only other suitable one that is big enough for a large cat in the Melbourne is at Queenscliff at the bottom end of the bay. The one at Westernport (Hastings) would be too small. If Yaringa has its new one working it maybe big enough but the old one wouldn't of been.

Thanks guys. Any idea of the name of the one in the Yarra? The Duke & Orr is the heritage one where the Polly Woodside is at Southbank.I cant find a listing for anything else in that area?

Re: Melbourne area slipway and advise please

Last time I looked Duke and Orr had moved to the south side of Appleton Dock.. but that was about 12 years ago.

Twelve months ago the contact for the one on the other side was: Stuart 0414 534538 or 9326 6556 and was good for a Seawind 1160.
