So when you're not out motoring 100% of the time, you're on the beach. Nice!

We tried motoring on the beach too, but it didn't work.

If you had a couple of decent diesels instead of those silly little Honda outboards you would have succeeded.

You can beach a mono too...just tell your guests not to tack so much sand into the cockpit or down below

It's a pity more people don't do so
I'm not sure about your browser, but most will just download the image once and then display it in more places without consuming additional bandwidth.

What he said. Once I beached my boat, was walking the beach with my daughter, and was just lucky enough to notice a freighter passing ~ 1 mile out. We left in a big hurry, watching massive breakers in our rear view mirror.

I've also seen boats heaved on to the beach by a passing ferry wake. Ugly.

I'd have to have a reason to do it unless (a) there was zero chance of wake or (b) I had a beach cat.

Yes, there is a requirement for just a little common sense.

We don't beach our boat where freighters or ferries can pass. In fact we don't dry out in anywhere exposed. We generally look for all round shelter, clean sand bottoms and clear water so we can see where we're going to sit.

With us, beaching the boat isn't usually the primary goal. It's being in the fantastic, very sheltered, picturesque anchorages that can only be visited by being able to take to the bottom.
