Something like this? Deep sided for load carrying. Cat for stability in a short boat. No personal experience with this one but it appeals to me[emoji2]

That is very similar to a Livingston. I used to have a Livingston and really enjoyed it, but it was heavy. Seems to me the same basic design could be built much lighter.

YouTube of same Livingston I had (12T). I ran it with a 9.8 and it performed great. Very stable, good load carrying capacity, easy to plane, buy heavy. At 12' it was also on the big side for a dinghy. Also need to install a fender system on the gunnels to protect the mothership. There are more Livingston videos on YouTube.

How about this self-build catamaran tender posted by Fluffinger at the beginning of the year:

We recently upgraded to a Whaly 310 which meets most of your requirements. It's virtually indestructible and less expensive than most inflatable RIBS.

A tinny with a Kaptan Boat Collar. You also need a bumper for the gunwale and on top of the bow to protect the mother ship but it will do all you ask but sail... because I haven't fitted a sail.

This is just 8'10" long so at say 10' would be even better. Based on an enlarged Unicat 2.4

Re: Dink with some unusual requirements....

Its easy to make a very light cat dinghy just infuse the 2 hulls in solid glass, my two hulls were7.6 and 8.1 kilos. Then all i had to do was build a flat bottom punt 2.9 metres long from 10mm foam and 400gram m2 glass, no stringers or frames or bulkheads or anything else and stick the two hulls on the bottom. 7 years old now and never had any water in the hulls and it cops a beating. There is 3600 grams per m2 glass in the keels and the turn of the bilge and 1800gm2 in the rest of the hulls. There is a flange on the hulls so you just butter them up with epoxy fillet mix and stick them on. I left everything in the hot sun and then bought it all inside late afternoon and let the cooling effect vacuum the hulls on. There are no bungs in my hulls, if i ever get a leak ill put some in but until then we are all good.

Re: Dink with some unusual requirements....

I have been following the OC Tender story with interest. A real sailor and his wife from NZ have started a business building what I think is a very impressive tender that can do it all. It can move quickly, be a diving platform, go fishing, carry stuff and is light and versatile. And they have just developed a real sailing version. As an Australian Rugby fan I can assure you I am not trying to do him any favours, I just reckon their product is real innovation. Worth a look. octenders.co.nz

Definitely an impressive dinghy. i wonder however if it would be the first to be stolen out of an anchorage?

I was thinking just the opposite. Being that it is so recognizable and easy to pick out it would be the last one somebody would want to take. Obviously I could be wrong.
