It was a Cross 36R, I only remember reading Norm's list he sent out with the study plans.

Most of a single cylinders vibration comes from just having the single power pulse. It can be quite a kick.

Lots of weight in the needed tank, shaft and exhaust system too. My Yamaha 9.9 high thrust can push the Vagabond at over 7 knots and maintain headway in a stiff wind and it is a heavier boat than yours.

Mike, I'm sorry to hear that you will be selling Mandolin. If my 38 was ready, I might consider selling her and buying yours. Doug Jayne spoke highly of the boat and I saw her briefly while anchored there but you were not around.
