You've cleaned her up quite a bit. I am assuming the first set of pics were the original shape she was in.It is pretty hard not to like the warmth of wood.It IS a lot of work, but if you are living aboard, you are going to be right there; so what is the problem?You are young, got the time and nothing you learn on this project will be wasted. It will be with you on your next boat. No different than your first house or car. All new to YOU.

At least you can work on her in the snow. A FG boat, here, I have to wait until the temps get above 45º F to do any exterior work.

well her engin is good and so the electrical...the hull and rudder is perfect other then minor paint touch up...as for the nasty hole, thats nothing for me (owned a body shop) she needs stanchions and railings...all riggings are ok exept for one chainplate...anchors rode and chains ok...all electronics ok...need to replace one window and polish the brass portlights...I need to built a mizzen mast and recaulke the deck...the boat can be launched 1st of may alonge with my hinterhoaller.

shes in much better shap then one might think

Yes, its a money pit. Just like ever other B.O.A.T (Bring On Another Thousand) on the water. But its your wallet and you control it.

My advice would be to get it seaworthy first and only do one job at a time. Dont have a pile of half done jobs.

The reason I said make it seaworthy first is so you can get it on the water as fast as possible- then you can enjoy it. The cabin Varnish could wait. A new head could wait, a new plotter could wait. But if you get the Rig, engine and safeties all working properly, you can be out sailing quickly and do the other jobs along the way.

Enjoy it.

other then placing cusins and shoveling the snow...I did nothing not even a fast wipe...my girlfriend will clean her up next week...she wants good looking photos for her facebook friends

i know--but you have more gorgeous teak and beautiful dragons than does mine-- i want more dragons.....we do have awesome boats tho-- they look sooo awesome cutting thru the seas.....
and i do think your friend may be a bit jealous-- these are awesome boats and not as difficult to repair as one would believe....and not as expensive to repair as one would think....

I have two 18in jade chinease dragons I riped of a cabinet more then 25 years ago...cant decide where to glue them??

To be fair, it's a boat - so if not quite a money pit, it'll certianly be a hole in your pocket. Never mind, a bit of good quality thread and a shapr needle, you can sort that one out fairly quickly!!

When there is a will, there is a way!
I have a 30' that I replaced about 90% of all the interior wood. I had a blast doing it, then when I lanched it after 3 years, it was the absolute nirvana to sail it.
You have an awesome project!
