Pulled the Trigger on an Islander 34
I popped my boat cherry and picked up an 68' Islander Wayfarer 34 today. It's in pretty good shape and got it for what I believe was a great price and came with some good gear like an Aries Windvane, an autopilot, gimballed stove, etc. She does need some work but I have my copy of "This Old Boat" on standby!

I've lurked on CF for about a year and a half and have gained some seriously valuable knowledge from everyone here. I'd like to give everyone here a big thank you! I don't post much in forums but love reading them. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute something back to the community I have learned to much from.

Anyways I wanted to post a few pics and please, tell me what you think of her. She's parked in her new homeport of Moss Landing, CA.

Gratz! And if you got her at a good deal...then you will probably use the saving to make her exactly how you want her!

From the pics you have shown....she looks to be a fine boat!

Congratulations! I've always had a fondness for Islanders. She looks in great shape. There will always be a few things to repair or change because its a boat.

I looked at this boat and was preparing an offer just before you bought it. She's beautiful. If you ever find she's not right for you, I'd be happy to take her off your hands for what you paid. Happy sailing!

There is another one in Anacortes for sale for 28k - look on craigslist - wa/skagit.

Thanks everyone, I'll keep everyone posted on my progress as I spruce her up!

Dylan, I knew she was a bargain the moment I saw at her and made an offer right away. I'll be sure to let you know if I hear of or see anything else like her in the area!
