Re: Pilot House vs Enclosure

We own and Liveaboard a 31 Bombay Pilothouse. She has much mor ecomfortable living area than most 31 boats I have seen. I am 6'6 and can stand up in the pilothouse/living area/salon/galley without hitting my head. We enjoy beng able to see out all around us. She is a wide heavy boat with a modified full shoal draft keel but she sails well. She cant get right up next to the wind but she can do a good 6.5+ kts in a decent breeze (10ish) no problem. Large cockpit is really nice for entertaining and once had myself, my wife and 3 heavy 200-300# friends in it for a day sail and had no problems. I love our little boat! OOh and its nice to be able to get in out of a bad rain and still steer!
