Pictures of my dingy

I use this dingy around my marina. I am afraid if I take it places it will be stolen.

Re: Pictures of my dingy

The problem with having too nice of a dinghy is always that someone might want it more, but in your case, anyone that took it would stick out like a sore thumb so I would think it would not be a good canidate to be stolen.

Re: Pictures of my dingy

Inflatables + outboards are what people want to steal, probably in reverse order. People steal all kinds of stuff, but a dinghy like that isn't going to blend in exactly. My $0.02 anyway.

The bigger problem I'd have is that dinghies generally get abused. They go up on beaches, they haul gear and jerry cans, they end up covered in sand and dirt, etc. On my walker bay I haul it up by the nose on the main halyard, then dump buckets of sea water into it and scrub the floors with a brush before I put it back on the boat. It's always filthy in the bottom because it's the fun-mobile at anchor.

Like a dirt bike, golf cart, and minivan all rolled into one.
