O'day 35' late Eighties

I am wondering what do you think about the O'day sailboats in general, and the specific model above. If it is a good boat to buy.

Actually it is not. The M25 engine is 21 hp. A common misinterpretation of the engine # assignment.

I owned a 1986 O'Day 35 from 1998 to 2010. I was very happy with the boat, and traded it in for an O'Day 40. The 35 was, in my opinion, a sweet sailing boat.
FYI the O'Day 40 is the Jeanneau Sun Fizz. The O'Day 35 was made by, I believe, Hunt Associates.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the boat. I sailed Long Island Sound, Block Island Sound. Took the boat to Marthas Vineyard, Block Island, Newport, etc. Never had any problems. Felt the boat was adequately powered. Never had problems with the engine, although I did have the standard alternator re-built. Added a small solar panel, which kept my batteries topped off.
