Looking at a Morgan 31 year 1992 displacement 5 500kg with 20hp engine.

Just a few questions

Any body with priore experience with this type of vessel??

The Morgan 31s, I’ve seen, both had the 30HP Diesel (Yanmar 3GM), and reported speeds of 4 - 6 knots under power.
By comparison, a 20 HP version may be underpowered.

Thanks for that.

Had a feeling it sounds a bit small.

I installed a 30ym, and get 5.5 knots at 3200 rpm, and the boat weights 10 ton, very happy with the repower, was recommended by Charlie Morgan himself.

Re: Morgan 31

We sailed the S Atlantic on a Morgan 31 in the early 90s. Ended up being the 4th crew to work for The Moorings who owned Morgan 31 sailboats. Need we say more ?
