Thats very nice. Kind of like the stories of fine automobiles found in some farmers barn.

Re: Launch of "new" Hans Christian HC41T - Pictures
I don't particularly like the grey look of teak, but I am also somewhat lazy. So, I was planning to keep the teak untreated and wash it with salt water every now and then.
I had never heard of Semco before. The idea to preserve the current look (i.e. keeping its rich brown colour without the varnished or oiled appearance) has its appeal. The Semco website makes it sound easy to use with great results, but I assume if it doesn't work out, going back to grey may not be as simple.
(BTW: I believe the teak deck is fastened with screws - see the plugs in the attached picture.)

What do you plan to use to maintain teak? I recommend Semco unless you are looking to go gloss or gray route.
Also really love the more modern underbody. Should be much faster than old ones with full wetted surface of extending aft.

As mundane as it sounds - I googled "Hans Christian Sailboat". At least for the "finding part" there is no story.

Semco is super is easy if you apply 1-2 times per season with a rag. Much easier than starting with gray teak and trying to restore. Supposedly what mega yachts and cruise ships use on teak decks.
I applied once to my teak grate in cockpit 1 year ago and still looks golden though needs maintenance coat (prob should do more often)

Her name is "Anna Marie", after my late grandmother, Anna, and my aunt, Marie.
We had a proper naming ceremony with Aldi champaign (German and Dutch people will know what that is) and a little speech by me.

That is a gorgeous, gorgeous boat. We coveted her for months. Even made initial contact. Astounding price. But for us nortè americanos, the european electrical system posed too many obstacles. Alas. You got a fantastic boat. Love her well for us, too!

She will first go to Far East Asia (but on a ship) for coastal sailing until I have enough confidence and the time to do more.
Here are a few interior pictures to start with:

I added a user gallery on CF as well, but don't know whether it is yet visible to everybody. If not, I have also uploaded the pictures - click here

A fine looking vessel. Looks as if she will take you anyplace you wish to go.

Re: Launch of "new" Hans Christian HC41T - Pictures
Hi Ingo! It's emily from HCOA.
I'm so happy to see your beautiful Anna Marie (nice name!) here and even more happy to know that she is launched and ready for her trip! Congratulations! Although it would be nice if you were to hang around in Europe so that I could crew for you and help with all that teak (HCYE recommends dousing fresh seawater each morn), I'm happy that you have worked out the big and little things and are doing what you set out to do. In my eye, there's nothing, nothing, nothing sweeter than a Hans Christian sailboat! Good things Ingo and keep going for it!

Thanks a lot. Btw, I worked out how to publish pictures on the hcoa forum and created a few galleries there as well.

Re: Launch of "new" Hans Christian HC41T - Pictures
Beautiful boat. I've always been a fan. Interesting stern platform. Would probably be more functional as a swim platform if it was closer to the water. I'd want to make sure that the ladder can be reached & deployed from the water if necessary.
