Info wanted-passport

Hi everyone;
Iam brand new to this site and everything else.

Does anyone have any information or knowledge on the Passport 40/42's?

Around the mid '1980's or so.

Any info at all would be very much appriciated.

The Passport 40 is also on my shortlist (Passport 40, Caliber 38, Bristol 41.1) so i was also hoping to read som replies from people with information. You might try looking at Sailnet.com. I seen some info there.

I only have "web experience" of the Passport 40 but it seems to be a well biuit, sails reasonably well cruiser from the 80ties capable of going off shore. The only hang-up some people have is that the keel is built (glassed) in. Personally I like the layout except the cockpit benches doesn't look to big enough to sleep (rest) on. That's important, but again, I never been on one.

There's tons of info on the Passport series. They were designed by Bob Perry, and amongst his most popular designs.

One of the participants in Sailnet has one. I've got a similar Perry design, a Golden Wave 42 (faster than a Passport), but built to an equally high standard.

These are excellent boats, and hold their value very well, providing that they are well maintained.
