Re: Graceful vee berth exit?

Hey, Frank,

The worst bits are covered, OK, but what are "grundies"?

I've got some sweet 4 bolt pad eyes in strategic locations for lee cloths... They are sturdy enough for other restraint anchors...

Happy the only thing you're forgetting in your case is they're supposed to be "willing"participants.

How do you swing your legs around without kicking your better half? Feel slightly foolish even asking this question....
Your feet toward the cabin will be VERY impractical. What I and my wife do is to lift bent legs up in the air and rotate on our back. This assume that there is enough room overhead to do this. If not, some kind of overhead handle for pulling yourself out, and in.

Oh man... That's where the anxiety is coming from then... Initial willing participants would give me a whole lot less to worry about...

My EX loved the forward v berth on our old Ingrid... Said the deck beams were the best footholds she ever experienced! Probably why she is an EX!

Re: Graceful vee berth exit?

our Corbin 39 has the beam running quite forward and with the collision bulkhead taken up 3 ft. forward, that leaves quite a lot of room for two. I remove the filler piece in the aft center of the V-berth and it is easy to get and out by swinging your legs out over the side. it more resembles two twin beds joined at the foot. real comfy with a custom latex mattress

How is that? Or are you just noting that, for most boats, the limited elbow room up forward will cause pillow fights?

Reg Grundy 'Reginald Roy "Reg" Grundy, AC, OBE (born 4 August 1923) is one of the most successful Australian entrepreneurs, and media and television moguls of his generation......... While at 2CH Sydney in 1957, he devised and hosted the Wheel of Fortune game show on radio, moving with that show to television, starting on Channel 9 in 1959. He then founded the Reg Grundy Organisation in 1960. '

'Reg Grundy's' or just 'Grundys'... australian rhyming slang for undies.....
