Boreal Sailboats

Am considering buying one of these and am reaching out to anyone that may already own one and is open to sharing their experiences with this vessel.

Look at morganscloud.com as they have reviews and owners comments on the boreals

Re: Boreal Sailboats

No sailing experience but I have seen one from the dock and talked to her owners.

The boat looks great - really well put together, unlike a more recent, more famous alloy production from another manufacturer (PM me if you want to know which one).

The owners were very very happy with the boat. They were headed across the Atlantic.

I would definitely keep this boatyard on my short list.

On my blog you have some information about them and I don't remember if I quoted steve about the boat: He has a Boreal 44 after having had a Mason 44 for many years and makes some interesting comparisons. He sailed extensively the Mason 44, crossed the atlantic on the Boreal and has been sailing around.

Simplifying, the Mason 44 is a good old voyage boat, the Boreal 44 is a good contemporary voyage boat, the difference (according to him) is huge, in sailing performance, sailing comfort, interior space practicality and storages space.

Both designs are separated by several decades and the difference on overall performance is a true statement regarding voyage yacht design evolution and improvement.

He is a member of this and of sailnet forums. He is a very nice guy that will be happy to give you a lot of information about the boat.

He has a blog:
