Yep, pretty sure. Last I saw it, before this thread, they were trying to sell percentages of ownership, I assume, to get it finished. It doesn't look like much was done since then, except move out of the shop.

The Nutrition Scale was never intended to be used on that boat!

At the right price this could be a bargain for a amateur boat builder.
The most expensive stuff is there.

Re: Bob Bitchin Shannon 52

So if I understand this clearly, if I invest a half million dollars in that boat and hire a crew of ten to operate it, I can come to the United Estates and get a green card and residency?

Is this too good to be true?!

You may be saying that in jest but yes that investment level would likely qualify one for an EB visa depending on Country of origin.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottal...g#11e13d11752c

Other immigration options including serving in the US Military (N-426) or an H1B job visa. However a selective service requirement may get tacked onto the H1B so one can no longer "sit out" the age window in another country and then come stateside the day after your 26th birthday having "beat the system". Simply check the average age of H1B arrivals to spot any trend on that front. If the H1B does get tied to SSS registration then the EB visa gains an additional edge. This stuff is involved so before you invest talk to an immigration lawyer (should probably be free for initial discussion).

Completely agree and from the photos and extensive, new-in-box gear shown that won't take 500k for an amateur to finish it out.

Re: Bob Bitchin Shannon 52

I worked on the joinery work of the Lost Soul when Bob first obtained her & was her first mate on her first shake down cruise to Mexico. Bobs magazine, Latitudes & Attitudes, & book, Letters from the Lost Soul was to come later when we set out for Tahiti. Things changed with the sale of the Magazine & the Lost Soul. Knowing Bobs love of the sea, & the love he had for the Lost Soul prompted Bob to create his Mega yacht Bitchin 52 Not all dreams come true but it does not hurt to try your best to bring them to reality.

Re: Bob Bitchin Shannon 52

Bob is one of those guys that inspires all of us to not simply dream but live those dreams. I was on the first Share-the-Sail with Latitudes and Attitudes and will never forget the trip. I mentioned this thread to him and here's a direct quote:

"I don’t belong to the board so can’t post a message.

If you do, and can, you can tell them you just spoke with me, and we will accept any offer over $150k, and there is over $800k worth of gear there. The boat could be in th water fro less than $200K additional, and the last Shannon 52 sold used for $900K

So it is a very viable for a low buck boater to have it sailing for less than a Hunter. if he’s able to do some of his own work!"

Sure makes me wish I had an extra $350K laying around....

Excuse my ignorance but is this hull related directly to Bob in that He started the work on it? Obviously a good deal even without the Bob pedigree...

It's Bob's boat. He gives the whole story on his website.

The problem with self builds is when you have cash coming in you don't have the time and when you have the time NO CASH! (I've built 3 yachts from 26' to 42' and am building a steel "Dutch Barge" 40' x 14' x3' No time!
